We have made musical instruments that transform plants in the simplest way into a sounding device. Because of their natural forms, these instruments, such as the horn, the overtone flute or the slit drum are common around the world. Their preparation does not require expertise, it is not a product of a professionalized elite culture. Instead of concentrating on how to perform melodies written for western octave, we played music as a community activity.
We used pioneer plants introduced all around the world by humans to make musical instruments.
